UFC 115 tickets for the first foray of MMA into Western Canada are proving immensely popular as UFC fight fans flock to buy them up! UFC 115 will feature a top of the card showdown between Chuck Liddell and Rich Franklin, a hard-hitter brought in to replace Tito Ortiz for reasons that weren't made immediately clear. UFC tickets in Canada enjoy the distinction of being one of the fastest-selling UFCs ever. I'm talking about UFC 83 Montreal, when the Canadians went crazy to see their MMA hero Georges St. Pierre. This time out, Vancouver UFC fans will be looking for a glimpse of local boy Rory MacDonald in his fight against Carlos "Natural Born Killer" Condit. Main bout of the evening, Liddell v. Franklin will surely be worth the price of UFC 115 tickets alone though, as Liddell hopes to add to his impressively long list of scalps earned over the years. Vancouver Mayor summed up the feelings of MMA fans in BC very well, when he recently said, Gregor Robertson. "We've worked hard to bring it to Vancouver and I want to thank UFC and Canucks Sports and Entertainment for making the event possible. Vancouver has some of the most passionate UFC fans in the world, and I have no doubt that General Motors Place will be packed on June 12th."
The speculation over the return of UFC light heavyweight champion "The Iceman" Liddell is a mouth-watering (or mouth-bloodying) prospect for fans of the man who reigned from '05 into '06 as one of the sport's greatest fighters. The fact that Liddell's third ever bout with Ortiz was called off and replace by "Ace" Franklin probably makes the prospects all the more exciting, as many in UFC rate Franklin very highly. The fact that Liddell were both coaches on The Ultimate Fighter 11 television show made it seem a pretty weird prospect anyway, and I think the media-driven world of MMA can sit more comfortably in the knowledge that it is another who will be trying to smash down Liddell's defenses on June 12 in Vancouver. Ortiz's last UFC was UFC 97 in April 2009, when he suffered a defeat to Mauricio "Shogun" Rua. The wrestler will now probably retire with a pretty decent 21-7 career record. Franklin and Liddell have never met in the cage before, but both were light heavyweight and middleweight champions, respectively, from 2005 to 2006. So buy UFC 115 tickets and be there for the first ever UFC in BC! It's gonna be yet another fantastic UFC, make no mistake about that!
