UFC 108 | UFC 108 Schedule: Nogueira vs. Velasquez

Submitted by admin on Wed, 2009-11-11 19:26.

UFC 108 tickets mean one thing - the powerhouse headliner between Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Cain Velasquez will decide who goes on to fight the winner of the UFC heavyweight bout between Brock Lesnar vs. Shane Carwin. The Lesnar v. Carwin fight has been temporarily put on hold after Lesnar suffered another bout - one with mononucleosis. The Champion will have to wait out his infection and you can bet he will be raring to go when he hits the cage once again! Lesnar vs. Carwin was initially moved to headline UFC 108, but Carwin has now said that his infection requires more time to heal. That's a shame; those two fights on the same card would have meant the biggest UFC of all time. Nogueira vs. Velasquez is now the UFC 108 main-event and nobody is complaining too hard about that. UFC 108 tickets are currently being snapped up by the public as everyone wants to see the fight that leads to the Big One.

UFC 108: Nogueira vs. Velasquez tickets promise a great night's fighting, and the chance to fight for the UFC Heavyweaight Championship, but there are many other good bouts on the card, too. If you think buying UFC 108 tickets means just one good fight then think again; you'll also see Brazilian heavyweights Gabriel Gonzaga and Junior dos Santos fighting each other, a pretty scary site, I'm sure. The long-awaited bout between Tyson Griffin and Jim Miller is also ready to go, with both Americans raring to prove their point there. Another good clash in UFC 108 will be Martin Kampmann vs. Rory Markham. The Danish "Hitman" Kampmann is no pushover, so be sure to be right at the cage when these two go at it. The only loss for Nogueira in UFC was against Frank Mir in December 2008. Nogueira lost the interim title as a result of that defeat. The truth is, Nogueira was suffering from a staph infection plus a knee injury before that fight, so he has his excuses.
Velasquez entered UFC from the American Kickboxing Academy as a result of finding it difficult to find worthy opponents. He is currently 5-0 - with four knockouts - having pasted both Cheick Kongo and Ben Rothwell recently in notable fights. UFC 108 tickets are gonna be selling like wildfire, so make sure you check out our UFC 108 fight card and be there at the octagon for what promises to be one of the best UFCs we have seen in a long while.
