UFC 141 Tickets are a Holiday Treat in Vegas

Submitted by admin on Mon, 2011-11-28 21:39.

Tickets to UFC 141, the heavyweight clash between Alistair Overeem and Brock Lesnar will mean a holiday time treat for Ultimate Fighting fans in Las Vegas, as longtime MMA fighter Lesnar faces fellow old timer Overeem. "Old timer" isn't really being fair to these big hitters; Lesnar is 34 and Overeem is 31, so they've got plenty of fight in them yet. The UFC 141 fight card will be Overeem's first ever, so keep an eye on him because he's tipped to wreak havoc in the world of Ultimate Fighting. The beefy Overeem said he could have fought lesser men for his UFC debut, but, he added, "When I signed for the UFC, Dana White and Lorenzo Fertitta offered me the winner of the title fight between Junior dos Santos and Cain Velasquez. But I am a fighter. I don't want to sit on the sidelines, I want to fight."
Sounds to me like Overeem is ready to go for the big one, and who can blame him? UFC 141 ticket sales are reflecitng the expectation in those who are making a point of attending this explosive event in Vegas. Overeem's declaration that he will "rip Brock Lesnar apart, piece by piece" won't be taken lightly by the Lesnar camp, though. They're experienced campaigners in the Ultimate Fighting arena and will be hoping that Overeem suffers from complacency. That would be the worst thing he could do, as Lesnar is still one of the toughest propositions in the entire UFC. Lesnar was sidelined for a while with a serious bout of Diverticulitis with mononucleosis but he bounced back and fought several major contenders, most notably Shane Carwin, who he defeated to reclaim the Undisputed UFC Heavyweight Championship belt. Lesnar's next fight, a defence of the title against another "Undefeated", Cain Velasquez, ended in a first round technical knockout. Sad days for Lesnar but a testament to his fighting spirit that he came back from his illness and was prepared to take on the very best to keep his crown.
On December 30th we'll find out if Lesnar has what it takes to regain his title once more. Tickets to UFC 141 are special in the sense that Overeem packs a mean punch and is a very real obstacle in Lesnar's path. Make sure you have your tickets in hand on December 30th, if you're in Vegas.
